The price of wheat this season is expected to be on the higher side. Dried beans continue to be exported to Guadeloupe, Martinique, and St. Lucia. Fields are being worked for planting of corn for dairy silage.
Deciduous tree fruits, nuts, and grapes: Cherries are in full bloom. Some growers are applying disease control pesticides to deal with possible damage. Early stone fruit varieties continue to bloom. Petal drop has started in almond orchards. Almond exports are going to the United Kingdom, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Taiwan, New Zealand, Spain, Israel, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Belgium, the Netherlands, Dominican Republic, Afghanistan, Italy, and Colombia. Walnut export is going to Bulgaria. Pecans continue to be exported to the Middle East, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Italy. Pistachios are being exported to Morocco, Israel, Turkey, Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mexico, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, India, the United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, and China. Grape growers continue to run drip irrigation before the leaves begin to unfold. Table grapes are budding out and showing some green foliage.
